(AP Photo/James Minchin, File) INXS guitarist Tim Farriss severed his finger in what he calls a "horrific" accident. Farriss was working on his boat in Sydney on Jan. 24 when he injured his left hand and severed the ring finger after getting his hand caught in an electric anchor winch. He's now had surgery to reattach the finger, the Australian band's record label announced today, but in an email to bandmates reported in Australian media, Farriss writes, "I don't know if I will be able to play properly again." Adds Petrol Records in a statement cited by AFP, "The accident has caused permanent damage to Tim's left hand." He's expected to undergo therapy for as long as a year in the hopes of playing again.
