There is no question UCLA's Pauley Pavilion needs a makeover, but Bruin Nation is in an all-out debate as to whether it just needs some Botox or whether the old girl needs a complete facelift, reports the Los Angeles Times. Changes on the table for the famed Westwood Arena range from a corporate name change, to upgraded locker rooms and fan areas, to even building a whole new facility.
Pauley was built in 1965 and has hosted 38 NCAA championships in men's basketball, volleyball and gymnastics. Yet not many changes have been made. UCLA officials would like renovations in phases, but no firm decisions have been made. Alumni and boosters have already raised $40 millions in anticipation of upgrades. Earlier this month, a new architect was hired to start forming a plan. (More NCAA stories.)
