With Halloween coming up, The Stir rounds up 10 celebrities who believe in ghosts:

  • Demi Lovato says her childhood home in Texas was haunted, and a ghost named Emily was her best friend. She claims she's had a medium and ghost hunters confirm the story.
  • When Halle Berry was making Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, she brought home a gown Dandridge wore, and weird stuff started to occur. She said one night she even saw a baby gown floating in the air.

  • After Matthew McConaughey moved into a Hollywood home, he heard the sound of a coin dropping onto a coffee table, and went to see what was going on—while naked, of course. He says the home was haunted by a ghost called Madame Blue, but she never gave him problems after that, perhaps because he's "nude all the time," he once speculated.
  • Some gossip outlets reported a sad story after Heath Ledger's death: Michelle Williams reportedly believed his ghost visited her to apologize for not being there to help raise their daughter.
  • During a performance of Waiting for Godot in London, Patrick Stewart paused for a while and later told friend and co-star Ian McKellen he'd seen a man in the wings wearing a "beige hat and twill trousers." Theatre Royal Haymarket employees said it was the ghost of a 19th-century actor/theater manager, John Baldwin Buckstone.
