Ocean-Front Home Built on Wrong Lot

A brand-new 5,000-square-foot-home in a gated Florida community has a lovely view of the ocean—and of the vacant lot next door where the home was supposed to have been built. Yes, a builder put up the $680,000, five-bedroom home on the wrong lot in Flagler County, reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal. The problem apparently originated with some misplaced flag stakes in the original survey, and nobody caught the mistake until the home was finished.

"I have built about 600 homes in Flagler County and this has never happened to me before," says a VP with the builder, Keystone Homes. The company is trying to finagle a deal between the Missouri couple who paid to have the house built on their still-vacant lot and the owners of the lot with the accidental home, but nothing has yet been worked out.
