• Demi Moore: Her 1991 Vanity Fair cover, shot by Annie Leibovitz, started the trend.
• Cindy Crawford: Her accompanying interview when she posed for the cover of W in 1999 included this less-than-glowing line: "It's a miracle, yes. But what can I say? I liked the way I looked in Playboy last year."

• Claudia Schiffer: She was more positive in 2010 when she posed for Vogue, saying, "It was important to us to show how beautiful it is to be a woman and that you can have a positive attitude towards your body, including when you're expecting."
