Benghazi Suspect Found Dead in Libya

With Ahmed Abu Khattala facing justice in the US, another suspect in the Benghazi attack has been found dead in eastern Libya, CNN reports. What happened to Faraj al-Shibli is uncertain. A local militia in the town of Marj detained him this weekend, a source tells CNN; his body was discovered in the same town yesterday.

Following the Benghazi attack, al-Shibli was detained by Libyan officials more than a year ago, officials say; the Washington Post calls him "by far the most notorious suspect" in the case. He was believed to have links to al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which was reportedly involved in the attack. He was also interviewed by the FBI while detained, a Libyan insider has told CNN.
