The View was back yesterday for its first live broadcast since it was revealed that ABC was giving everyone except Whoopi Goldberg the boot—and if you watched, you may have noticed that soon-to-be-ex-co-hosts Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd didn't have anything mean to say, despite their ouster. That's because, yesterday morning, producers held a meeting and made it clear that everyone had to play nice, sources tell the New York Daily News. McCarthy's and Shepherd's on-camera comments were pre-approved before the taping.

McCarthy revealed she'll be on another show competing with The View, but didn't say which one. Meanwhile, rumors continue to fly as to who might replace her and Shepherd, and in a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Palin made a not-so-veiled play for a role. Asked if she'd be interested in joining a talk show, Palin noted, "Maybe. But the politics would have to be interspersed with a whole lot of fun and real life and inspiration showcasing American work ethic." She then added, "I hear everyone recently got canned from The View, maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America's heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue." (More The View stories.)
