Note to reporters thinking of interviewing Joan Rivers: Don't ask her to defend her edgy humor or her affinity for fur. After CNN Newsroom host Fredricka Whitfield did just that Saturday night, Rivers angrily cut the interview short. "This whole interview is becoming a defensive interview," she said. "I'm going, I really am going, because all you have done is negative. ... You are not the one to interview a person who does humor, sorry." Whitfield's response after Rivers stormed off: "Are we serious? Oh boy, yeah, she was serious." Rivers, who was there to promote her new book, tells the Hollywood Reporter it wasn't a stunt: "The CNN interviewer was a news reporter and not an entertainment reporter," Rivers says in a statement. "She did not seem to understand we were talking about a comedy book and not the transcripts from the Nuremberg Trial." (More Joan Rivers stories.)
