Nanny Who Wouldn't Leave Home Is Gone, for Now
Nanny Diane Stretton.   (KTLA-TV)

The nanny who wouldn't leave seems to have left, at least temporarily. After a California family's strange plight made national headlines—they hired Diane Stretton as a live-in nanny, fired her after three months when she stopped working, then found that they couldn't legally boot her from their house—Stretton seems to have bolted, reports ABC News. Marcella Bracamonte says Stretton left their Upland house Thursday morning and hasn't been back since. She didn't take her belongings, however, which doesn't bode well.

A crew from KTLA-TV actually spotted Stretton in her car outside the local police station, but she hid under a windshield cover when approached. It's not clear what Stretton's next move will be, but it will likely involve a lawsuit. She has filed so many unsuccessful suits over the years, including some against her siblings and her own son, that the state has her on its Vexatious Litigant List. (More nanny stories.)
