The Sudanese Christian woman sentenced to death for refusing to renounce her faith came close to getting out of the African country, but was re-arrested at the airport today, her legal team tells CNN. Meriam Ibrahim was ordered released yesterday, then detained at the Khartoum airport today along with her American husband, Daniel Wani, and their two children—one of whom was born while she was imprisoned. The family was being held at the national security headquarters, according to Wani, but details are not yet available. Ibrahim's lawyer tells the Guardian more than 40 national security officers apprehended the family as they prepared to board a flight to the US. (More Meriam Ibrahim stories.)
