Should Miranda Barbour be convicted of killing a 42-year-old she and her husband are accused of luring via Craigslist and murdering, execution would be a fine punishment. So says her ... father. In an interview with the Daily Item, Sonny Dean says that he would actually "stand side by side" the widow of Troy LaFerrara and "hold her hand" as his 19-year-old daughter is put to death. In a statement written for the LaFerrara family, he says, "If chosen by the jury, [capital punishment] is an appropriate end in this situation." Among his other not-so-loving words about his daughter: He describes her as the most manipulative person he's ever met, a selfish heroin addict, and a liar. And he says she absolutely lied when she claimed to have murdered at least 22 people—though he does believe she may have the blood of one additional life on her hands.

He suggests she may have killed someone in Alaska, as she claimed, describing it as a "possibility" because she "ran away from home at least two times that I remember, both for over a 48-hour period ... I don't know what took place during either of those 48-hour periods." (For their part, Alaska State Troopers say there's no evidence Barbour is tied to any unsolved murder in the state, reports the Anchorage Daily News.) As for claims regarding out-of-state murders, Dean says, "I can promise you that she has only been to California once and Texas a few times and both times she wasn't out of my sight." She moved to North Carolina two years ago, but Dean says the relatives she lived with watched her like a hawk. (More Miranda Barbour stories.)
