A new Miley Cyrus documentary debuted on MTV last night, and in it, Cyrus and Britney Spears had this disturbing conversation about the VMAs, which reveals we all dodged a bullet:
- Britney: "You're not going to be topless onstage, are you?"
- Miley: "I tried but I don't think MTV's going to allow it."
Whew! Close call, human race. In
Miley: The Movement, Cyrus also talks about watching her idol Britney's "I'm a Slave 4 U,"
Us reports. Her dad, Cyrus says, "shook his head and was like 'My 8-year-old is going to turn into a stripper.' But I wanted to be hot like Britney and that's still what girls wanna do in the pop industry."
Apparently Cyrus also looks up to Sinead O'Connor a bit; she reportedly said her bizarre "Wrecking Ball" video was inspired in part by O'Connor's video for "Nothing Compares 2 U." So, of course, O'Connor responded with an open letter: "I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way 'cool' to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos,' she writes. "It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether its the music business or yourself doing the pimping." (More Miley Cyrus stories.)
