The Hornets made it look easy last night, beating the Spurs 102-78, and further cementing their No. 1 spot in the Southwest division, the San-Antonio Express-News reports. The win marked the eighth straight for New Orleans, and put an end to three in a row for San Antonio, who were handed their worst loss of the season.

David West posted an impressive 32 points, 20 coming in the Hornets-dominated second half. "He was impossible to guard," said Spurs' coach Gregg Popovich after the game. West was joined by 22 points from Peja Stojakovic and 17 from Chris Paul. Hornets coach Byron Scott called the victory, New Orlean's first over the Spurs since 2005, "Probably the biggest win we've had." (More NBA stories.)
