Madoff's Office Was Sexual Hotbed: Court Papers

Bernie Madoff's office was a hotbed of relationships that included a love triangle involving the Ponzi scheme king himself, according to court documents released today. Four associates of Madoff Securities and Madoff's former secretary were in Manhattan federal court facing charges over the $65 billion scheme when prosecutors released the papers, the New York Post reports. Prime quotes include:

• Several "employees—including all but one of the defendants, several Government witnesses, and Bernard Madoff himself—were at various times in romantic and/or sexual relationships with one another."
• "One of the defendants was in a love triangle with Bernard Madoff himself."

Madoff's longtime secretary, Annette Bongiorno, was there, accused of making over $14 million in illegal profits from the scheme. So were former operations officer Daniel Bonventre, computer programmer George Perez, and office worker Joann Crupi.
