San Diego Mayor Bob Filner has been accused of, among other things, telling a former aide she should come to work sans underwear; seven of the nine City Council members want him to resign. But he's not—he's fighting the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him ... and he wants the City Council to pay his legal bills. Filner's attorney made the official request to the city attorney yesterday, the Los Angeles Times reports. The council is considering the request today.

Most amusing line from the Times article: "Several [council members] have said that the city should not be forced to pay his legal fees because his alleged misconduct was not part of his official duties." In addition to the allegations outlined by Filner's former staffer in her lawsuit, six other women have made accusations; Filner has hired a top employment lawyer. Two groups are looking into the possibility of a recall election to get him booted from office. (More Bob Filner stories.)
