Mark Sanford. Eliot Spitzer. Anthony Weiner. It seems everywhere you look there's a politician proving there is life after sex scandal. So Public Policy Polling decided to ask North Carolina if they'd be open to a comeback from once-favored son John Edwards. The response: Heck no. Only 15% have a favorable opinion of him, and only 19% would be open to electing him again, compared to 67% who replied in the negative to both questions.

The wide-ranging poll included a couple of other interesting points as well. For one thing, huge majorities disapproved of the Supreme Court's neutering of the Voting Rights Act, even though many North Carolina counties were subject to the act's strictures. And, on a much, much sillier note, 11% said they would support federal aid to California for Sharknado relief. (More John Edwards stories.)
