Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum has launched a new career in show business. The conservative Republican is the new CEO of Dallas-based Christian film company EchoLight Studios, reports the AP. Santorum, who has invested in the company and has been on its board for a year, says he believes entertainment "can be strength and light for people who want to be uplifted and reinforced in their values."

"You have millions of Americans who don't go to the movies because they don't want to see, and they don't want their children seeing, certain content," says Santorum, who believes Dallas has the potential to become the Christian Hollywood. EchoLight's next movie, The Redemption of Henry Myers, tells the tale of a bank robber in the Old West and will be released this fall. (More Rick Santorum stories.)
