No arrests have been made in the gang-rape of an American tourist, but the 30-year-old victim was able to give police descriptions of her three attackers, reports AFP. The assailants picked her up in a truck typically used to haul construction material, and police are making the rounds of local construction sites near the resort town of Manali. The woman is recuperating at a hotel under police protection and is expected to meet with US embassy officials later today.

"She is recovering fast and helping us move forward with the investigation," says a senior officer. "She has given us details of how the men looked, what they were wearing." Meanwhile, police made an arrest in yet another high-profile rape case in the country, that of a 21-year-old woman from Ireland who traveled to India to work for a children's charity. A businessman in the city of Kolkata has been detained, reports the AP. (More India stories.)
