Jason Kidd Hanging Up His Sneakers

Veteran NBA player Jason Kidd announced his retirement today, after playing 19 NBA seasons. "I think it is the right time," the 40-year-old Knicks point guard told ESPN. "When you think about 19 years, it has been a heckuva ride. Physically, I want to be able to participate in activities with my kids so it has taken a toll. It is time to move on and think about maybe coaching or doing some broadcasting." Kidd is a 10-time All Star, won a championship with the Mavericks, and has two Olympic gold medals with Team USA. Fellow 40-year-old baller Grant Hill also announced his retirement on the weekend, leaving Miami Heat's Juwan Howard the oldest player in the NBA, notes the LA Times. (More Jason Kidd stories.)
