Cleveland Hero Scores Burgers for Life

Charles Ramsey—the neighbor who famously put down his McDonald's to go free the Cleveland kidnap victims—is getting burgers for life, but not from the source you might expect. More than a dozen Ohio eateries have offered up their burgers to Ramsey any time his stomach rumbles, and he'll be presented with a good-for-life "Chuck Card" when he returns to Cleveland from traveling, reports the Plain Dealer.

"We want to honor our local hero with local food," says the guy who operates four restaurants in on the offer. "He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger." In addition, Hodges restaurant, where Ramsey works as a dishwasher, has also created the Ramsey Burger in his honor. But still no word from McDonald's itself—though the chain said it would get in touch with Ramsey earlier this month. (More Cleveland stories.)
