More than a year after her husband killed himself and their kids in a home explosion, police are searching the Oregon woods for signs of Susan Powell's body. Cadaver dogs were on the rural hunt for Powell, a Utah woman who has been missing since 2009, Fox 13 reports. Her father, Chuck Cox, was on the scene; he says he had a tip leading to the area. Husband Josh Powell's relatives once lived there, Cox says: "He was aware of this place."

It's "a far distance from anywhere in Utah and even around where he lived. It’s an opportune spot." Some details remain murky, however: Josh Powell is believed to have traveled 800 miles round-trip after his wife disappeared, but this place is 800 miles total from Salt Lake City, and it's northwest despite Powell's claim he went southwest, Cox says. If this search doesn't work out, hopes may be waning: Police say "this is probably it as far as leads go," Cox notes. (More Susan Powell stories.)
