Already Battered by GOP, Now Dems Hit at Sanford

New ad goes live today

The GOP has pulled the plug on support for Mark Sanford's campaign, but Democrats aren't holding back. They're spending $188,000 to air a new ad hitting Sanford for his "walk down the Appalachian Trail." It'll run in the Charleston and Savannah, Ga., markets through April 28. "Mark Sanford walked out on us, violated our trust ... maybe Mark Sanford should just keep walking," says a narrator in the ad. And while it mentions his absence, not his affair, the AtlanticWire notes that "those lines clearly conjure up" the latter transgression. (Read more Mark Sanford stories.)
