Mark Sanford has got a date in court two days after his date with voters in May's special congressional election. The former South Carolina governor's ex-wife filed a trespassing complaint after allegedly catching Sanford leaving her home by the back door, using his phone for a flashlight, according to court documents obtained by the AP.

Jenny Sanford has custody of the couple's four children after a divorce caused by an extramarital affair that derailed Sanford's career and spawned the euphemism "hiking the Appalachian trail." Sanford is facing Stephen Colbert's sister Elizabeth Colbert Busch in next month's election, and his ex-wife says she doesn't care whether the trespassing complaint affects his chances. “The race is not a concern,” she tells the State. “I am focused on raising my children.” (More Mark Sanford stories.)
