Prince William Quitting Job

Prince William has given his notice. The future king of England formally notified the Royal Air Force that he'll be leaving his position with the Search and Rescue Force, a military source confirms to Us. "William is ready to take on new challenges—as a royal and within the armed forces," the source explains. No word on what his new challenges within the armed forces might be, but on the home front, the 30-year-old is of course expecting his first baby with wife Kate in July.

Wills' current tour of duty ends this summer. The source says he'll announce his next step "within the next month." (Us notes that the news comes on the heels of Tuesday's announcement that the search-and-rescue arm of the RAF will be privatized, and run by a Texas-based company, so it's not a big surprise that William will need to do something else.) William just recently discussed his job with the RAF for a BBC series airing next month, People reports. "There's no greater feeling than when you've actually done some good and saved someone's life," he says. "I don't think there's any greater calling in life."
