Scott Weiland was confused when Stone Temple Pilots announced he'd been fired. "Not sure how I can be 'terminated' from a band I founded" was his response, according to the Week. But these seven other musicians experienced the same thing:

  • After just a year in Metallica, guitarist Dave Mustaine was kicked out over his addiction problems. The other band members broke the news by giving him a Greyhound bus ticket instead of a plane ticket to their next show. He went on to found Megadeth.

  • It was addiction that got Brian Jones expelled from the Rolling Stones as well. After too much partying, he was kicked out, and was found dead in his swimming pool a month later.
  • Apparently Glen Matlock liked the Beatles and Paul McCartney a little too much, and that's what got him booted from the Sex Pistols.
