President Obama beat former Dallas mayor Ron Kirk and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane on the links yesterday—with a little help from a guy called Tiger Woods. The foursome played 18 holes at Crane's Floridian Yacht & Golf Club in Palm City, Fla., reports the Palm Beach Post. The president is an avid golfer, and he and Woods have been trying to set up a game since early 2009, months before Woods' philandering hit the headlines.

Obama "said it was a real treat for him to come here with his best friends and have a chance to play," says Woods' former swing coach, who gave the president some tips. "But he counts every shot ... He thinks about all his shots before he hits them. Some people might say to the president of the United States, 'Oh, just move it.' But that’s not him. He loves the game and loves the game the way it’s supposed to be played." White House reporters were furious after being told they wouldn't be given a chance to photograph the pair, Business Insider reports. (More Tiger Woods stories.)
