Montana's KRTV yesterday issued an emergency warning: Zombies are on the attack. The scrolling message alerted multiple counties that "dead bodies are rising from their graves" and "attacking the living," the AP reports. People shouldn't "approach or apprehend these bodies as they are extremely dangerous," it added. Fortunately, "there is no emergency," KRTV says on its website. Phew.
"Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System," and experts are investigating. "We had four calls checking to see if it was true. And then I thought, 'Wait. What if?'" a police officer tells the Great Falls Tribune. But "we can report in the city: There have been no sightings of dead bodies rising from the ground." (More hoax stories.)
