Tim Scott grabbing Jim DeMint's old Senate seat, there's a vacancy in South Carolina's congressional delegation—and a former governor wants in, CNN reports. Republican Mark Sanford, who was considered a presidential contender before his extramarital affair became national news, is "all but certain" to seek the seat he held in the 1990s, a former aide says.

Sanford's history of serving the state could help him in the likely March primary, and he still has $124,000 in his campaign coffers. But a majority of the state has an unfavorable opinion of him, according to polls.
