Edmonton finally wins in regulation, shuts out punchless Islanders

Mike Ribeiro celebrated his new $25 million contract with two assists, and teammate Antti Miettinen scored twice as Dallas defeated Minnesota 3-1, ending a four-game losing streak. The Stars went scoreless for more than 100 minutes last night, reports AP. Minnesota, playing Dallas for the third time in 13 days, got its lone goal from Mark Parrish. Elsewhere:

It took only 60 minutes for Edmonton to nail a win—netting goals from four different players in a 4-0 blanking of New York. Mathieu Garon had 35 saves for his third shutout this season and Dustin Horcoff scored his 100th career goal during the Oilers' three-goal second period. It was Edmonton's first regulation win since Dec. 2.
