Nicolas Sarkozy and very new girlfriend Carla Bruni may soon tie the knot, gushes French weekly Le Journal du Dimanche, citing decidedly anonymous sources. Sarkozy reportedly gave the Italian supermodel/songstress a heart-shaped pink diamond ring and plans to wed her on February 8 or 9, writes the AP. Presidential spokesmen had no comment.

French leaders have traditionally kept their private lives quiet, but the couple haven't hidden their relationship, appearing in public together anywhere from the pyramids at Gaza to Disneyland Paris. Sarkozy divorced his second wife, Cecilia, in October, and Reuters reports that he now faces disapproval from French who are tired of seeing their leader's private life splashed across gossip pages.
