Ten old love letters written by Mick Jagger are going up for auction at Sotheby's next month, reports the Guardian. Given that he wrote them in 1969 to Marsha Hunt, the inspiration for "Brown Sugar" and the mother of his first child, they're expected to fetch up to $160,000. A Sotheby's official explains that the young Jagger displays "a strong sense of irony about himself and what it is to be a superstar" in the letters.

Don't expect any big revelations, apparently. Jagger writes about reading Emily Dickinson and making the movie Ned Kelly, among other things, though he does mention "John & Yoko boring everybody." Hunt says that she's selling the letters because she's "broke," and that Jagger knows about the auction. Is he happy about it? "I don't think so, but they're not his." Speaking of John Lennon, Digital Music News reports that an app out later this month will allow fans to read his private letters—with Yoko's blessing. (More Mick Jagger stories.)
