College basketball's No. 1 ranked UNC was handed its biggest challenge yet by feisty No. 19 Clemson, who took the Tar Heels to overtime before Wayne Ellington won the game, 90-88, on a last-second, almost-stolen three-pointer. Ellington finished with a career-high 36 points for the Tar Heels, who remained perfect as their ACC schedule began.
UNC had stormed back from 81-74 with just 2.5 minutes left in regulation, knotting it at 81 with a Tyler Hansbrough free throw. Ellington's game-winning bucket was atonement for a miss from behind the arc with 14 seconds left in the second half. (More NCAA stories.)
