The fourth American killed in the Libyan violence has been identified as former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, reports CNN. Few details are available about him other than that he was working as a diplomatic security officer when the assault on the US consulate in Benghazi took place. The same holds true for fellow victim Glen Doherty, another former SEAL. They were killed along with US Ambassador Chris Stevens and information officer Sean Smith.

CNN has a fuller profile of the 42-year-old Doherty, who was reportedly in the country searching for shoulder-mounted anti-aircraft missiles. "He was my brother, but if you ask his friends, he was their brother as well," said sister Katie Quigley. Protests, meanwhile, have spread to Iran, reports the Los Angeles Times, though they remained relatively peaceful. Hundreds chanted anti-US slogans outside the Swiss embassy, which handles American interests in the country. (More Sean Smith stories.)
