Wii U Hits in November for $299

Nintendo's new Wii U console will hit stores in the US on Nov. 18 for as low as $299, the company announced today. For that price, you'll get just the console, its unique gamepad controller, a charger, and an HDMI cable, Mashable reports. Upgrade to the $349 "deluxe" bundle, and you'll get an extra gamepad, charger, and the game Nintendo Land, one of two launch titles.

The other? The New Super Mario Bros. U, which the Daily Mail notes makes the U the first Nintendo console in 16 years to launch with a Mario game. What the system won't come with are any of the current Wii's accessories, meaning no remotes, no nunchucks. The gaming giant is banking on its new controller, which looks like a tablet computer, complete with giant touchscreen. It'll also see the debut of "Miiverse," which is being billed as "Facebook for gamers." (More Nintendo Wii stories.)
