Four-month-old "Baby Kate" Phillips vanished in June 2011, and her disappearance remains the subject of a homicide investigation. Now her mother is planning to marry the man suspected of killing her. The accused, Sean Phillips, is also Baby Kate's father. Ariel Courtland says she is marrying Phillips not out of love but in order to visit him in prison and find out the truth behind their daughter's disappearance, reports Michigan Live.

Sean Phillips was the last person to see Baby Kate alive in their Michigan home. In April, he was convicted of unlawfully imprisoning the child and is now serving 10 years in prison. Courtland filed an affidavit this week to marry him, and she has 30 days to do so. (More baby kate stories.)
