Rumor has it that Joran Van der Sloot is quite the lady killer—and we don't just mean that he kills ladies. Peruvian tabloids have reported that Van der Sloot is engaged to an unidentified woman, and intends to get married while in prison, the Daily Beast reports. The rumors come as Van der Sloot seeks to worm his way out of his 28-year prison sentence. Peruvian courts are considering a request to void the sentence, on the grounds that he got bad legal advice.

Van der Sloot was promised he'd get only 15 years if he pleaded guilty in Stephany Flores Ramirez's death, new lawyer Maximo Altez says, adding, "He should have been charged with manslaughter, not aggravated homicide." Altez is also arguing that Van der Sloot wasn't properly extradited to Peru. "If that comes through, we can bring the whole case down and start from scratch." But Altez says the marriage rumor is likely false. "They cited me as a source," he says. But "I don't participate in his personal life." (More Joran Van der Sloot stories.)
