Nafissatou Diallo has added a new wrinkle to her lawsuit against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, arguing that he hates women and that his alleged rape of her hence amounted to gender violence, the Guardian reports. "Strauss-Kahn's conduct towards women generally is, and more specifically his sexual assault of Ms. Diallo was, motivated by gender-animus and a misogynistic attitude," the lawsuit alleges. The charge is significant, because New York City recently outlawed gender-based violence.
The accusation references Strauss-Kahn's other alleged sexual misdeeds. French writer Tristane Banon has accused him of attempted rape, and French authorities have lodged preliminary pimping charges over claims he was involved in a prostitution ring and are investigating allegations that he gang-raped a woman in connection with that ring. Strauss-Kahn has admitted to "libertine" activities, but denies all sexual assault and prostitution accusations. He's filed a $1 million defamation suit against Diallo.
