Pro tip for the world's burglars: Try to avoid leaving incriminating evidence, like fingerprints, DNA, or a backpack containing your schoolwork at the scene. Utah police responding to a burglary this weekend found a backpack left behind in the targeted home's backyard, the AP reports. Inside was a USB drive full of homework that they tracked back to the suspect.

Police were called in after a 75-year-old man awoke to find someone rooting through his desk. The intruder punched the man and took off, apparently abandoning the backpack along the way. Using the info on the USB drive, police found and arrested 18-year-old Dallas Naljahih on suspicion of the crime. When they arrived at Naljahih's home they found him asleep—along with evidence linking him to the burglary. (More dumb criminals stories.)
