Newly-minted New York Jet Tim Tebow's locker room was open to reporters for the first time yesterday, and they pounced. "It’s like shark feeding, man," said Josh Baker, a reserve tight end who, possibly unfortunately, occupies the locker next to Tebow's. Surrounded by dozens of reporters, Tebow told the press that "there’s a lot that’s exciting about being a Jet," the New York Times reports. "I’m just trying to be a little piece to try to help this team win a few games."

As for how he feels about being the back-up quarterback: "It doesn’t change my mind-set or my attitude or anything. It’s just another opportunity and another challenge," he said, calling his relationship with fellow QB Mark Sanchez "great." Others had positive things to say about Tebow, though they occasionally appeared frustrated by the press' fascination with him. It was like when Brett Favre came on board in 2008, said defensive tackle Mike DeVito. "Everybody asking you, 'What’s Favre doing?' as if you live with him or something." Indeed, press fascination extended to Tebow's dog, Bronco—whose name the quarterback says he may change to Bronx. (More Tim Tebow stories.)
