Best Part of Being Ted Nugent? 'Amazing Hunting'

Ted Nugent ignored most of the questions about his recent comments on President Obama in a new interview with the Arizona Republic, but he did say he was "very much" on good terms with the Secret Service prior to making his remarks, and those terms are "even better now." Colorful highlights from the Q&A:

  • On Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Nugent calls him "America's top sheriff" and says they share a belief that "law and order, goodwill, and decency as driven by the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Ten Commandments, and Golden Rule provide the greatest quality of life on Earth, and we will never back down from these self-evident truths."

  • On fans of his music who may not agree with him politically: "Tough s--t. My all-American soundtrack for freedom defines the spirit of rugged individualism and spirit of defiance that makes America and my music so wonderful."
  • On why he became more political: "I've watched the increase in soulless America-haters infest our government and country and I refuse to buckle under like some brain-dead sheep and let it continue."
  • The best part of being Nugent? "Family, health, patriotism, music, amazing hunting, and the incredible quality people all around me."
