Trayvon Martin's mother said something interesting this morning in an appearance on the Today Show to discuss George Zimmerman's arrest. Asked what she would say to Zimmerman if she got the chance, Sybrina Fulton said she wanted an apology. "I believe it was an accident," she said. "I believe that it just got out of control and (Zimmerman) couldn’t turn the clock back."
"I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager, and that he did not have a weapon?" she continued. "I understand his family is hurting, but think about our family that lost our teenage son." She said she wanted to see him stand trial even if it meant he might be found not guilty. "We are happy he was arrested so that he can give his side of the story." (Update: Fulton later issued a statement clarifying that she thinks the shooting was intentional: Zimmerman "stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood.")
