Limbaugh Out on Philly Radio

Rush Limbaugh has been bounced off the biggest conservative talk radio station in Philadelphia in another blow to the conservative icon, reports the New York Times. WPHT said it will replace Limbaugh with Michael Smerconish, a moderate alternative who originally hails from Philadelphia. The move is apparently not directly related to the recent Sandra Fluke controversy, notes the Times.

The company that syndicates Limbaugh's program appears to be attempting to move his popular show to another channel in Philadelphia—possibly Christian programming station WKDN, which may be morphing into a news-talk operation. But WPHT is the dominant conservative talk radio station in the city, one of the biggest radio markets in the country.
