With the New York Knicks changing from being coached by the offense-minded, freewheeling Mike D'Antoni to the defense-first, old-school Mike Woodson, there's one undeniable conclusion—"it's the end of Linsanity as we know it," writes Howard Beck in the New York Times. Woodson is certain to focus on Knicks superstars Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudamire, and feature a lot of halfcourt set plays. And Jeremy Lin? “Woody’s inclination would not be to play him,” says an insider.
Lin was the biggest sensation in the NBA this season, coming from seemingly out of nowhere to turn around a terrible Knicks season. But since a hot start, Lin's numbers have faded, and the Knicks have lost eight of 11 and are in a tough fight for a playoff spot. Now Woodson's priority is on re-integrating star Anthony into the Knicks' offense, after he missed several weeks with an injury.
