What was initially reported as a tragic gang-related shooting in Detroit may in fact be something else entirely: Hundreds of people visited a funeral home last night to mourn a 9-month-old who was sleeping on a couch in the wee hours of Feb. 20 when he was killed by a bullet from an AK-47, reports the Detroit Free Press. Someone fired 37 bullets at Delric Miller IV's home, and at least one family member believes the violence may be related to ... a baby shower. Miller's grandmother says a fight broke out the day before when there weren't enough seats for everyone at the party.

"A woman got mad because she couldn't find a seat, so she started knocking tables down, and it escalated from there," said Cynthia Wilkins. "My daughter and her friends left the club, but (a group of men and women) followed them to a gas station, and there was a fight with one of the guys who was at the shower with my daughter. Then, they followed them to the house." Wilkins believes they returned the next day and fired at the house, reports the Detroit News. "They went to the shower to celebrate life; instead, a life was destroyed." (More baby shower stories.)
