Russell Brand and ... Zooey Deschanel?

British funnyman Russell Brand is apparently bouncing from one blue-eyed cutie brunette to another. Brand has "had his eye" on New Girl star Zooey Deschanel "for a long time," an insider tells OK! "And he's been sending funny, flirty texts to see if they can get together. He thinks she's hysterically funny and cute, too. There's a real spark there."

The actress, recently split from Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, is reportedly "intrigued." But she's aware of her more-than-passing resemblance to Brand's ex, Katy Perry.
