Newt: I'm Going to GOP Convention

With Mitt Romney leading in a Florida poll, Newt Gingrich made it clear today: “I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination," he said. "You just had two national polls that show me ahead. Why don’t you ask Gov. Romney what he will do if he loses since he is behind in both national polls.” How will Gingrich win the nomination? "State by state."

The Republican candidate seemed offended when asked whether a Romney win would force him to drop out, Politico reports. But the question keeps popping up since Gingrich crushed Romney in South Carolina and lost some mojo this week in Florida. Another question: How will Newt fund a full-fledged campaign? His war chest may not be big enough, unless multi-billionaire Sheldon Adelson keeps bankrolling him through a pro-Gingrich "super PAC." (More Newt Gingrich 2012 stories.)
