Sarah Palin has one word for South Carolina voters: "Newt." That's who she'd vote for "if I were a South Carolinian," she tells Sean Hannity, who notes the plug "is close to an endorsement." (Husband Todd has already endorsed Gingrich.) But Palin emphasized only that a vote for Gingrich will keep the contest going, which will make the final victor fitter for the general election. "Iron sharpens iron, steel sharpens steel," she said.

"These guys are getting better in their debates, they are getting more concise, they’re getting more grounded in what their beliefs are, and articulating what their ideas are to getting the country back on the right track and getting Americans working again," Palin added. Gingrich tweeted a "thanks for throwing your support my way in the South Carolina primary.” (More Sarah Palin stories.)
