Another prominent voice comes down in favor of Rick Santorum: After Charles Krauthammer did so yesterday, William Kristol takes his turn in the Weekly Standard. The upshot: Republicans—and he's looking at you, Karl Rove—shouldn't be in a rush to anoint the "establishment" candidate Mitt Romney. Santorum has earned serious consideration after Iowa, even if he's still a big underdog.

"It's foolish to suggest he doesn't have a chance to win," writes Kristol. "His Iowa performance, and his speech Tuesday night, were impressive enough to suggest to primary voters in subsequent states that they should make an effort to judge both his capacity to win and his capacity to govern." (Meanwhile, the Huffington Post reports that evangelical conservatives will pressure Santorum rivals to drop out if he continues surging, to give him a better chance of toppling Romney.)
