Stop if you've heard this one before: The Lockerbie bomber is on the verge of death! "I am about to die and I ask now to be left in peace with my family," Abdel Baset al-Megrahi said in a newly published interview. Megrahi says he deserves to be left alone because he's innocent—and says he can prove it, thanks to new evidence related to the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The proof takes us to the streets of Malta...

The AP explains that prosecutors argued that Megrahi had bought clothes from a Maltese shop that were later packed around the bomb; bits and pieces of them were reportedly found amid the wreckage. Key witness Tony Gauci, the store's owner, identified Megrahi during the trial—falsely, says Megrahi. "I never ever in my entire life bought clothes from his shop, I have never bought clothes from him. He dealt with me very wrongly. I have never seen him in my life before he came to court," Megrahi explained. That evidence will appear in a new book on the case that Megrahi helped write, but don't expect anything further from him. "I will not be giving any more interviews," he said.
