Which towns will prosper the most in the next 10 years? Forbes Magazine runs down the 52 biggest cities in the US in terms of future vitality, job growth, increase in population of children, and immigration numbers. The winners:

1. Austin, Texas: High immigration and a good reputation among educated workers are setting this liberal Texas community up for big things.

2. Raleigh, NC: Second-highest overall population increase and the third-highest job growth over the past two decades; also ranks No. 1 for families with young kids.
3. Nashville, Tenn.: Low housing prices and a thriving—and increasingly diverse—cultural scene make the country music capital a rising star.
4. San Antonio, Texas: Stable housing prices, a burgeoning population, and a good job market are at work here.
5. Houston, Texas: Also known for inexpensive, ample housing, Houston sits dominantly atop the energy market.
